We remember:
Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund sponsored a Memorial Day flag display on the Boston Common, with a sea of 37,000 flags representing Massachusetts service members who lost their lives in the line of duty

The display is on the slopes of the appropriately named
Flagstaff Hill directly below the
Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors Monument
on the side of the bas-relief tablet depicting The United States Sanitary Commission
– a private relief agency created in 1861 to support sick and wounded soldiers during the American Civil War.
