I’m not sure what it is about the holiday season that I always look forward to in spite of how strenuous and stressful it is. In the past couple of weeks, I have put a few thousand miles on my car, Fergus and Sophie have spent long days cuddling and snoozing in the car seat while we’ve traveled all over to visit family, witness one university graduation, and now Sophie’s home to spend Christmas with her mom (my sister).

Little road warriors

We will be celebrating tonight with friends, so there’s a great deal of preparation that’s gone into this soirée. Which brings me to my point, if there is one. It’s about friends, and family.

We’ve talked here on the blog many times about the Eden’s Fall release and we’re oh, so grateful for the success it’s had in recent weeks and the lovely reviews some readers have taken the time to write. Many, if not most, of those who’ve bought the book are friends and family, and while that won’t get us invited onto Ellen or The View, the word of mouth they provide is yielding positive results. THANK YOU ALL!

So my darling sister ordered thirty copies of Eden’s Fall to give as gifts to her guests tonight. Even my nephew, recent college grad, asked for an autographed copy. He’s got some downtime before grad school …

From our families to yours — no matter what holiday season you celebrate, if you do — we hope you have loved ones near as this year draws to a close.

Okay. One more.

Fergus and Sophie in their festive collars.
