TGIF, am I right?
Do you know what’s even worse than suffering the indignities of a pap smear? Well, I’ll tell you. It’s leaving your socks on and then discovering after the fact that there’s a hole in the bottom of one of them and then wondering why you didn’t notice that when you were getting dressed in the morning.
Okay, I’ve told you mine, now you tell me yours (so that I don’t feel like I’m turning into my mother). What are some of the ways that you’ve managed to embarrass the hell out of yourself?

Might be the time I walked out of the women’s dressing room of the spa in my hotel in Milan, wearing my bathing suit and a towel and heading to the saunas, when I encountered three middle-aged, NAKED men lounging by a deep pool of water. For some reason I was expecting the water to be — maybe — hot, mineral water? It turned out to be a plunge pool of freezing water, which was a good thing because my face was as red as my hair and the shock of the frigid water braced me enough to run the gauntlet past the grinning men to the safety of the saunas. Once there, however, it was impossible to relax because I kept expecting company at any moment. Gah.

I had a “white trash parenting fail” moment on vacation with the family, including my parents. I’d had enough!! Threatened to “beat you (the cherubs) with a flip flop.” It was so funny all threat was lost. Parental control was lost. Granddad almost wrecked the car laughing and five years later it’s still fodder when it’s my turn at the Gulag of mockery that is Holiday dinners.

Nope sorry, I’ve always been the model of propriety and personal grooming. 😀
