…well you get the idea.  Good morning and Happy Cyber-Monday, all!  I hope all of my American friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Now that it’s over, we all know what that means, right? It’s time for the Christmas rush to begin!

I’m sure there are a lot of folks who think it’s still too early to think about hauling out the decorations, baking the cookies, wrapping the presents, etc. On the other hand, there are always folks who dive right in, whether it’s due to time constraints, the vagaries of the family diaspora or they are just too excited to wait a moment longer. (Those people usually have small children. Or they are the adults who will be clad in a different ugly sweater every day and will definitely have light-up antlers on their heads at the Christmas party.) I’m usually firmly planted among the former.

You may recall how much I hated the idea of retailers attempting to push the boundaries back to Labor Day and I still say that’s just nutty. So it might seem a bit odd that despite the fact that it’s still not yet December, I’m more than happy for the season to arrive.

Before the leftovers were gone, my friends and I had a tree up and decorated.

Morty is already waiting for Santa.

I even have my wreath on my door!

At the risk of being pelted with virtual rocks, I have approximately ¾ of my shopping done. (No, nothing is wrapped.)

This year is different, for so many reasons, but I’m of the opinion that you should decorate, shop, wrap, bake, sing carols, etc etc etc, if you feel like it – because if you feel like it, chances are you’re feeling it. And by it, I mean the spirit of the season, no matter how that spirit manifests itself and you choose to celebrate.

So, how long do you wait before trimming the tree? Do you have a traditional day or custom that marks the holiday season? Are you, too, hip-deep in silver and gold or have I lost my marbles?
