#AmParenting – Mother/Daughter Time

The Husband (Gregg) and I have had a relatively gentle transition into the “Empty Nest”. There was a moment last weekend, when the kids and I gave him a small surprise of everyone being home, he asked “what is the empty you speak of?”.
During the Jr High/High School years we were often tag team parenting, when the events conflicted and each kid got one parent. As they both got into High School and college, we have been able to get back to the two parent system. However, life has a way of checking our comfort and that’s a good thing.
I’m on my own with my Mini-me for a few days, apartment hunting for next Fall and just hanging out. Mani/pedis and boutiques are on the agenda after lunch!
Sing with me….”It’s momma and it’s daughter time.”

Awesome pic of the two of you! Thanks for sharing that. (side note: I have wondered for years where the “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” thing came from. So, thanks for that, too!)

You just spurred such sweet memories for me. My three girls flew the nest many years ago; however, I cherish every one of those early “fledgling” moments with them. And now i love even more our grown-up mother / daughter times….
